PHILADELPHIA (April 15, 1999) The Philadelphia Eagles
announced the signing of 10-year veteran free agent safety Tim
Hauck to a one-year contract.
As is club policy, terms of the contract were undisclosed.
The 32-year old is coming off his finest NFL season posting
career-highs in both tackles (83) and forced fumbles (2) for the
Indianapolis Colts in 1998.
Hauck, 5-foot-10, 187 pounds, played in all 16 games and started
the final seven at free safety last season when his 83 tackles
ranked third on the Colts behind strong safety Jason Belser and
linebacker Steve Morrison.
The University of Montana product originally joined the NFL
as a rookie free agent with the New England Patriots in 1990.
Hauck then played four seasons in Green Bay (1991-94), two in
Denver (1995-96) and one in Seattle (1997) before joining Indianapolis
in '98.
During his nine-year career Hauck has played in 132 games (10
starts), recording 197 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble
recoveries.
