Eagles sign Landeta

Philadelphia, PA (TSN) - The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with punter Sean Landeta to a three-year contract Friday.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The 37-year-old Landeta spent last season with the Green Bay Packers, where he set team single-season records with a 37.1
yard net punting average and 30 punts inside the 20-yard line. Overall, he posted a 42.9 yard average.

During his 14-year career, Landeta has recorded a 43.6 yard average that ranks 12th on the NFL's all-time list. He has led the
NFC in punting average four times during his career, which includes stints with the New York Giants, the Los Angeles/St.
Louis Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"What Sean brings us is years of experience," said head coach Andy Reid. "He's obviously a championship-caliber punter and
someone I feel very comfortable about having him take over our punting chores."

The Eagles also signed running back Tony Smith on Friday. Smith, a former first-round draft choice of the Atlanta Falcons in
1992, recently played for Toronto in the Canadian Football League.
